Looks a bit too hollywood/OTT to be a Sherlock Holmes film but nevermind. I can't stand Jude Law but the fact that Rachel McAdams looks smoking hot makes up for it. Will be interesting to see what the critics think.

It looks like good fun but they didn't need to use the sherlock holmes license this is pretty much the complete opposite of what those stories were besides the names of the characters.

for some reason i can see Hugh Laurie playing Sherlock Holmes. i think Robert Downey Jr. was a poor choice in casting.
and why are they trying to make a "hip" Sherlock Holmes?

look who's directing it.
also RDJ is never a poor choice.

i like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. besides that movie i don't think anything by Guy Ritchie is worth a second look. with the exception of Sherlock Holmes of course. i just want to see want he'll do to him.

I was just answering your "hip" question, nothing past lock stock really got my attention either.

also RDJ is never a poor choice.
i was going to say something to the effect of "what about the role of a black man"
then i was like "oh wait"

Snatch is a pretty good Guy Ritchie film. More of the same but still quite entertaining.

for some reason i can see Hugh Laurie playing Sherlock Holmes. thats probably because his character House is based on Sherlock Holmes. The drug use, the genius, the connections/leaps in logic.

You should check out Snatch, it's better than Lock Stock imo. I'd be interested to see how this Sherlock film turns out.

To me, Snatch is kind of like a more American version of Lock Stock (i.e. sections set in the U.S., U.S. actors like Brad Pitt, etc) and though I liked both I've never been really interested in checking out more of his stuff.

It looks good so far....however I agree with the comment above that it seems a bit too "Hollywood". I really hope its not just action for action's sake....I love Sherlock Holmes.

It's amazing how Robert Downey Jr. always ends up playing a character that has an addiction of sorts.
