Obv Psycho is one of his finest, but try The Birds or Vertigo. Both are excellent, The Birds is very creepy and Vertigo is cool thriller.

The Birds and Vertigo are incredible, yeah :)
Frenzy is an underrated Hitchcock I find, also The Man Who Knew Too Much and Rope is essential.

Yeah meatplow, Frenzy is very underrated true. Also, one of his most acclaimed was Rear Window, a 1954 suspense movie starring James Stewart and Grace Kelly about a wheelchair bound man spying on neighbours thinking he see one commit murder. Classic.

how rear window slipped my mind is beyond me, classic. :smoke:
yeah, frenzy was my first hitchcock and introduced me to his special brand of intensity, the potato truck scene is scarred in my brain forever
other hitchcock i've seen, hmm. the trouble with harry? probably one of his weaker efforts. I think topaz was the other one i've seen as well, can't remember it very well though.
i have to work through his filmography at some point. also when I posted earlier in this thread I was at the library here in town and happened to see 39 steps on the DVD rack, ended up borrowing it :)

Absolutely love Hitchcock, have a boxset with a big selection of his films.
Aside from the obvious classics already mentioned, Rope seems to be underrated, Strangers On A Train and The Man Who Knew Too Much are brilliant as well. To be honest, you can't really go wrong with Hitchcock, even his very early stuff is worth a watch to see some of his early trademarks at work.

This. A truly good movie. About a man mistaken as a spy and his effort to elude his pursuers. Starring Cary Grant 1959 (i think)
sadly, this thread needs more Rebecca

Shadow of a Doubt is another great one not mentioned. Marnie, too.
Honestly, it's hard to go wrong.
