I wonder how Mikey Rourke will stand up as the bad guy, I hope they work on his speech and diction because he doesn't sound clever enough to build a robot suit that sucks electricity (Crimson Dynamo) well I guess he is a Russian arms dealer, he can buy anything!

drinking while presenting weapons in the middle east and drinking on a plane at like 10am is roughly what I'd consider 'on the way' to alcholism. They setup the fact that he likes to drink a lot, it would be pretty easy for them to get that route, I wouldn't mind if they did.

This is my guess on the film's plot:
Whiplash is just a distraction for Black Widow to glean info about JARVIS that was uploaded into Mark II/War Machine. Rhodey upgraded the suit with help from Justin Hammer, the rival industrialist. Hammer will be able to control the suit by way of a proxy suit and override Rhodey's commands. Hammer/War Machine will force Iron Man to fight in the city. Stark will choose to disable War Machine but have a lot of innocent bystanders die and Rhodey still lives, or save the innocent bystanders by killing War Machine and Rhodey will be the only death.

The visuals are pretty, as expected. I'm not familiar with the comic series, so I don't know the name of the black guy in the cooler, gray/gunned up suit, but I want 3 of them. I'm just expecting a pretty looking movie where I can turn my brain off, no real plot. Thats OK though.

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios are scheduled to release the live-action film The Avengers (May 4, 2012). Confirmed team members are Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow and Thor. The film's writer, Zak Penn (co-writer of The Incredible Hulk film), cited Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch's Ultimates version of the team as inspiration for the story. Iron Man director Jon Favreau is executive producing.
