View Full Version : new brand new anticipation
can't wait for their new album, supposed to be out later this year. anyone a bit apprehensive though, especially after hearing that "brickhouse" song from live recordings on youtube - it's not bad, but seems like a step back. i get the feeling that tbh the order right now is tdag > deja > yfw, and the new album will inevitably fall between deja and yfw...anyone more optimistic?

Pop-Punk forum.
Oh, and by the way, if you're admitting you listen to Brand New, might as well get a vasectomy now and get it over with.

"Brickhouse" or whatever its called has been out for a long time now so I don't think that will be any indicator of how the new album will sound. In my opinion though pretty much everything Brand New does is gold (thus far) so I have no reason to believe the new album will be bad. I just don't want to hype it to much because then it will inevitabley fail.
Also Liam Brand New hasn't really had a pop punk sound since Your Favorite Weapon which came out when most people on this forum were in like 7th grade so I think they have officially washed themselves clean of that label.
This track "Gasoline" actually is the new album. This was from an acoustic performance on March 28th.

Don't understand the hate in this thread, and they definitely haven't been pop-punk for a long time.
"Gasoline" is awesome, it's got me stoked for this record. I'll probably end up pre-ordering it.

Band has merit. They're a guilty pleasure and every listen is a rush of nostalgia.
