View Full Version : Spiral Walls Containing Autumns of Light
So, what's our opinion on this record? I think if enough people heard this it'd have the potential to be the most divisive rap record ever.

If there's such a thing as post-hip-hop it started with this album. Surprised nobody's heard it to be honest, I would have at least though pixies would know about it.

i know about it. i just really can't stand stuff like this. definitely one of the earliest examples of this kinda hip-hop though so worthy in that respect.
Yeah I had a feeling you wouldn't be a fan. I don't really get the people who call it a classic, because it's obviously got some pretty major flaws, but I like it. A lot of it really reminds me of Funkadelic's most extreme tripped-out stuff.

yeah, it is cool in that sense. how it is bridging the gap between like various black musics. not like 'Voodoo' but in thoughtfulness it is probably at the same level.
Never thought of that comparison but yeah, you could definitely see it as a precursor to things like Voodoo and New Amerykah.
