discuss what you guys think about him.

Almost every high schooler in America thinks he's the best rapper alive and his presence in pop culture is a bit too pervasive, but dammit if he's not a shitload of fun to listen to. Da Drought 3 has some of the best remixes (if you can call them that) I've heard

yeah. i'm still a pretty damn big Lil' Wayne fan, although i don't enjoy his newest rock stuff. the vast majority of his catalog is quality stuff as far as i'm concerned.

I definitely enjoy a Wayne cut from time to time, and he can kick a straight flow when he tries. However all of his recent work and a lot of the auto-tune or mixtape shit is worthless.

All in all a quite decent artist but if he honestly thinks he's the best rapper alive then he probably doesn't even listen to rap. He wears cool clothes at performances though.

I'm not the biggest Lil Wayne fan, especially given how overhyped he is. Not only does rap like he had a stroke, but his increased use of auto tune really gets on my nerves. Also, I have a bunch of Lil Wayne vocal tracks and when you hear his rhymes w/o a beat it brings major lol's.

I haven't listened to him much, but the few songs I've heard have been pretty good (apart from Lollipop). I think I should check out some more.

His music is great if you remove his terrible raspy rap and laughable lyrics.

High schoolers don't obsess over him anywhere near as violently as this entire hip-hop forum crowds on MF Doom and Del's dicks. js.

i've never liked Doom, I definately like Del though. i saw him live with A+ and it kinda sucked though....he wasn't breathing good and chopping his verses i was disappointed.

I might have been exaggerating, to be perfectly honest. The hero worship of both parties is probably closer to equal.

Carter 3 sessions mixtape might be the best collection of rap songs I've heard in a long while. Scarface, Zoo, and especially La La La are all incredible songs. Plus, the beat production on every track is fire.

His flow is tight and original. He's not the best rapper alive, but if he calms down with the syrup and stays alive, he could be the greatest in a few years. If nothing else he's still hilarious:

"I know the game is crazy, it's more crazy than it's ever been
I'm married to that crazy bitch, call me kevin federline"

and

"Rapping is my hobby, my house has a lobby"

I loved Wayne when he first came out. Tha Block is Hot was a sick *** album. I'm not really interested in him anymore though.

i used to really hate lil wayne but TC3 changed my mind completely about him

also i used to really hate a milli but you need to hear that song at a gutter *** party and watch the bass make displace the speaker woofers by like 20 inches IT IS AMAZING

same here, all of my friends obsessed over him and i hadn't really gotten into southern rap, so i hated on wayne. then i got carter iii and i was like holy **** this is great! then i investigated his mixtapes and got blown away.

i always liked a milli, though, the lyrics are so good!

but i'm sure you were just being sarcastic.

this is one of those famous already_taken posts where he thinks he has the entire forum, nay the whole wide (more like white) world, on his side at the time of making his post but as usual, he's totally and hideously wrong and out of his element

lol @ hip hop outsiders; you guy never stop being amusing

i mean who can forget a classic gem like this:

while [Ludacris's] subject matter is tired, (bitches hoze moneyz & cloze come on), however i was saying that his lyrics on said subject are just dumb and simple. you can memorize a luda song after hearing it once it sucks

because it's so easy to make a memorable song

same here, all of my friends obsessed over him and i hadn't really gotten into southern rap, so i hated on wayne. then i got carter iii and i was like holy **** this is great! then i investigated his mixtapes and got blown away.

i always liked a milli, though, the lyrics are so good!

yeah i think it was the shift in production values and style that finally made him accessible to me

yeah the carter 3 is the pinnacle of lil wayne and luda is the pinnacle of all rappers. lol

and that's how u let the beat build bitch!!!

Amit
04-28-2009, 04:35 PM
hey guys i only listen to songs which are not memorable at all because that's a clear sign of complexity and we all know complexity is the bestest

btw i don't even like luda unless he's guesting so good job on that

Littlejohn

The Carter 3 isn't awful, but compared to The Carter 3 Sessions mixtape it sounds watered down and immature.

The new stuff he's doing with Young Money Records is really growing on me though. Drake from Degrassi is in the crew...
