here's the lowdown on an amazing rapper that deserves a lot more attention than he's gotten:

from New Orleans, Curren$y got his start on Cash Money Records, with whom he stayed for a while, getting features on Lil' Wayne mixtapes but no promise of an album. He broke off in 2007 and began putting out a series of excellent mixtapes (most all of which you can get for free legally on datpiff.com), and released his first actual album today.

I always felt like I should check him out because I live in New Orleans and people regularly talk about him, but I'm not feeling those songs at all.
