I discovered these guys a while back. I first got into Tears of the Valedictorian, my favorites tracks are Bushels, Reform the Countryside, ...Eagle Energy, and "Stockades."
Then I heard their first album, The Golden River. It's also a great album. Much more structured, and Carey Mercer's vocals are much more tame. Overall, I'd say that they have made a good progression of their sound between the two albums, but I'm still unfamiliar with their work between these two albums.
Are there any albums worth listening to between these two? I've read that their sound between these albums are awkward and unrefined, but I'd like to hear other opinions. Otherwise, you can just voice your opinion of the band as a whole. In my opinion, their sound has progressed in a positive direction and I wonder what their next album will sound like.
