View Full Version : For those with Last.fm...
What are your five lowest played hip-hop artists and why?
Dilated Peoples - I used to REALLY love them in High School when I was first discovering some underground stuff. In fact, I have albums by DJ Babu, Evidence, and Defari. But I guess I don't really feel like listening to them much now.
Saul Williams - Pretty solid and I like his s/t album a lot, but haven't explored his other stuff all that much. Still want to hear The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust.
8thW1 - Only recently discovered this guy.
Abstract Rude, Prevail, & Moka Only - Codename: Scorpion is dope but I don't listen to it much.
Celph Titled - I was REALLY into Celph when I was into all of the battle **** that he and the Demigodz do. Eventually, it gets tiring. I even had his 4-disc Gatalog which I listened to pretty often. Battle rapping vs. nobody in particular gets tiresome.

i just reset my last.fm a few months ago, cause all my early college **** was up there... with like faith no more, fort minor, etc.
kingsoby1 there and @ rym.
#19 - Kanye West
#23 - Public Enemy
#34 - Nas
#37 - Common
#40 - Massive Attack
(#52 - Buck 65 if Massive Attack don't count)
This is all mostly because I mostly listen to rap when out walking, and I only got an iPod until 2 months ago, so none of my rap was ever scrobbled. Kanye pops up on Party Shuffle more than anyone else because I don't own any of his stuff on CD unlike the rest.

I didn't know you could sync your Ipod with Last Fm.?
It should do it automatically. Mine did.

My last.fm is like 4 years old, so my lowest artists are all 20 plays each.
#491: Scarface (20)
#491: Rob Kelly (20)
#453: Sage Francis (23)
#453: The Roots (23)
#437: k-os (24)
In the case of Scarface, I have only got one of his albums; ditto Rob Kelly, although it's a mixtape; Sage Francis and k-os, I just dislike; The Roots I am indifferent to.

It should do it automatically. Mine did.
Huh weird, didn't know that was possible. Mine's never seemed to sync, mind you I haven't updated the old pod in a while. I'll update it and see if it works.
Hang on a minute: did lowest played mean played least, or with the lowest number in the chart?
The opposite is:
#492 - Chamillionaire (10 plays)
#492 - Outkast
#492 - Peanut Butter Wolf
#463 - The Avalanches (11 plays)
#463 - Sneaker Pimps
#463 - Eyedea & Abilities
#463 - Prolyphic & Reanimator
#463 - Boogie Down Productions
Again see above for why this isn't representative at all.

Yeah, least plays.
That least played list for me is actually probably better than my most played.

Yeah, in my case the least played just suck balls. Actually my most played probably do too. Maybe I should kill myself.

#445 Jay-Z (14)
I'm not a huge hip-hop connoisseur, but I can't really explain why Jay-Z is so low. I guess it's just been a while since I've listened to him. Definitely a fan.
#445 Sleaze (14)
I only have the Ocarina of Rhyme mixtape, and I've only listened to it once. It's cool, though.
#445 Bone Thugs-n-Harmony (14)
Don't really have much music. Need to hear some of the older stuff.
#445 Pax & Pry (14)
Just listened for the first time last week. Should move up eventually.
#481 The Game (13)
I only have a mixtape. Not a huge fan.

MF Grimm
never really got into him. although i did have that 3 disc album at some point so i'm not sure why there is only 1 play.
Cypress Hill
never really liked them. probably just listened to how i could just kill a man a couple of times to see how rage's cover was different.
Eightball & MJG
i like these guys, but i only have one song by them. i listen to songs with them making guest spots more.
Method Man
love his work with the clan of course, but never really dug his solo stuff. tical is decent but doesn't compare to other early wu solo efforts.
Main Source
downloaded live at the barbeque mostly to hear nas' verse. decent song, but not enough to make me want the album.

Most Played:
3. Nas
5. The Roots
6. Cunninlynguists
7. Wu-Tang Clan
9. A Tribe Called Quest
Least Played (475th and all with 2 plays):
Obie Trice
Declaime
Artifacts
Freddie Foxx
Diverse
And all because I just gave them quick tries without starting into a full album yet. All should go up with time.
