View Full Version : Worst rap record you've ever heard
I've never heard a rap album that I'd give the absolute lowest rating possible - for whatever reason I think the worst rock is markedly worse than the worst rap.
Whatever. The worst rap album I've ever heard is basically a straight tie between Eminem's Encore and Snoop Dogg's Tha Last Meal, with Snoop probably edging it because the only redeeming feature, "Lay Low", isn't quite as good as the only redeeming feature for Eminem, "Like Toy Soldiers".
1. Snoop Dogg - Tha Last Meal
2. Eminem - Encore
3. will.i.am - Songs About Girls
4. Various - WWF Aggression
5. Various - Blade II OST
6. Beastie Boys - Licensed to Ill
7. 2Pac - Rap Phenomenon II
8. The Black Eyed Peas - Elephunk
9. Ja Rule - Pain is Love
10. Immortal Technique - The 3rd World
So....have I just not heard enough awful rap? To be honest I'd only really say I hate the first three of that list. How about you guys?
1. Jeru The Damaja - Heroz4Hire
2. Black Indian - Get 'em Psyched
3. RZA - RZA as Bobby Digital in Stereo
4. Warcloud - Smugglin' Booze in the Graveyard
5. KRS-One & Marley Marl - Hip-hop Lives
6. Grandmaster Flash - The Bridge: Concept of a Culture
7. Celph Titled - The Gatalog: A Collection Of Chaos
8. Busdriver - Temporary Forever
9. Pete Rock - NY's Finest
10. Mac Dre - Dreaganomics
11. Crustified Dibbs - Night of the Bloody Apes
12. Soul Position - Things Go Better with RJ & Al
13. Dr. Octagon - Return of Dr. Octagon
14. Remedy - Code Red
15. Encore - Self Preservation
The first 6 are unbearably bad.

i don't think i've listened to a complete hip hop album that i've hated, although the first jedi mind tricks album did absolutely nothing for me. that's all i can think of.
5. KRS-One & Marley Marl - Hip-hop Lives
I HATE this album, too.

Lil Weeeezy lollipop song. It has an ambiguous point of view as to where he might be in the 'lollipop' situation. At least he likes guns, though:smash::smash::smash::smash:.

i love the production on that song, and its catchy as hell. not the best lil wayne song by far, but definitely not unlistenable!

I've gotten enough head in my life, listening to rap about it is punishment.
I think the Soulja Boy album is better than the 10 I listed, honestly.
And Lil Wayne is a straight 2.5 star artist, constantly.

something by Common.
hmmm, I dig Common
Worst rap record I've bought at some point I'd say would have been Kanye's Graduation. I like his production, but can't tolerate his rap "skills" at all....and his production is one reason I dig Common.

ANYTHING by Kriss Kross and Vanilla Ice.
actually I'd much rather put those on for the beats and major lulz, than listen to any major hip-hop star on MTV. oh and latter day Eminem albums suck pretty hard, as established by the ts.

I disagree sorry, I stopped listening to hip hop for about five years after these songs. I can respect that you like them and apologise for bagging them but thats how I feel. I think most of you guys are way younger than me. My fave era of hip hop is the late eighties early nineties, compared them to that and thats why I say what I say.
Dude, Regulate came out in '94. Do you really only listen to rap up to '89?

get rich or die tryin' is a great album, and for every dud autotune song Weezy has (which is really only recently anyway) he has a dozen amazing tracks. plus, since when has pomposity been a bad thing? swagger is one of the most important traits in a rapper, as far as i'm concerned
Jurassic 5 and Hilltop Hoods are two of the most over-rated groups in rap. I've never met a single black person who listens to HH.
Dave de Sylvia
04-08-2009, 03:25 PM
Probably because nobody outside of Australia or people on rock and metal messages boards listens to Hilltop Hoods. They're awesome though.
They're like Dilated Peoples without the good beats or the good DJ.

The DJ on the Calling is really good.
Hilltop Hoods are enjoyable, but I don't listen to them much anymore.

you can only have swagger if you have the insight and the sense of humor to go with it.

yeah i agree with you there. i think that's where 50 post-get rich or die trying starts to bore me - he takes himself way, way too seriously.
cam'ron, on the other hand, is pretty much the king of swag, as far as i'm concerned. he's as arrogant as you get but makes fun of himself with most everything he does.
