I just had to be the one who started this inevitability!

This man his been my main musical focus for roughly a year, on lastfm he has surpassed John Mclaughlin and Flying Lotus for my top spot all time, something like 5000 listens out my total 50000.
It all started when I heard one of the Fantastic tunes from Slum Village, the part where they start ad libbing these really subtle vocal rhythms... this it here.

It's fantastic. I love that thing, fan - ta - surah, does that have a meaning I don't think so anyways that ambiguity caught my ear and then the quieter funky vocal rhythms in the background let me know that this music was a groove I have been searching for, I mean Dilla's syncopation is pretty well known... as "offbeat", "drunken" blah blah, but I found it was really clear that this guy's beats weren't a fluke how driving and stylistic they got, his group of friends (SV) were into to it as well, by it's sheer attractive hip hoppity-tude.

This is how I appreciate that experience in hindsight, at first I was like oh man okay here is the hip hop I have been wanting to exist for me!

Okay I'm going to continually post links and 'appreciate them' as a regular type thing because I don't have the impetus to write a bunch of pages right now and there are different thing I like about this musics that I would like write about in the future.

Yes you guys too now have a place to show your love :-]

i've just recently gotten into his stuff tbh... i've always loved every beat i randomly heard, but i'd have to say, it started with this:

After this track, everything else kinda "clicked". Plus I love Guilty Simp.

The new dillanthology volume 1 compilation is really awesome -- so many classics all on one disc.
