mx, you discussed trailing a hip-hop forum in alt&indie. many users explained that they were interested in creating a main forum on the front page for specifically hip-hop related posting, or a sub-forum in the other music forum.

please take this in consideration as i think it'll help both the review site and forums generate more hip-hop related knowledge.

I'll consider one of two options:

1) Add hip-hop as a main page forum on trial. If it doesn't get enough posts, it dies.
2) Merge alt+indie with other, and add a subforum for hip-hop

option one is a good idea. there's too many people that enjoy hip-hop and too much diversity in the genre for it to be marginalised as "other" while several strands of guitar-based music are all given their own separate forums.

Option one, your forums focus should be congruent with the review site.

As well it should be noted that hip hop is as significant or moreso, in every way, culturally, economically as the other genres, it's kind of a shame that we don't have one yet.

This is a great step I hope it turns out, I really sincerely do.

i dont really post much in the hip hop thread because the guys in there really only talk about newer stuff and heaps of underground bits that i dont really listen to so i dont join in
and if i came in and started talking about the chronic or something everyone would hate me :(
