well...its not very user friendly, but it handles large assemblys better than solidworks does. i definately prefer solidworks though

What about Catia? That's what a lot of the AEs used at my old school.

never heard of it. is it engineering software? unigraphics is the major 5,000+ part assembly engine. that shits redic.

i've never used solidworks, but i learnt modelling and drawing and stuff in unigraphics so trying to use pro/e is a pain in the *** for me. we only use pro/e at uni and we havent done any large assembly's at this point.
it has some heaps good ideas but its just painful to use in some places. ive heard solidworks is pretty good though
and catia is meant to be the best for surface modelling and stuff, so i think its mainly aircraft and automotive designers that use it. its meant to be heaps good though, the couple of things ive seen done in it were pretty neat

sick. yeah pro/e is pretty ugly and painful at times. its just old programmers that are being stubborn. Solid works is the exact same program only for people who arent 50 years old. never used unigraphics. my profressor for solidworks seems to think that it's going to be the new architectual engine replacing autocad, which would be awesome. it would be totally easier to find total cost and weight blah blah blah with Cosmosworks and you could even find out the forces taken to destroy a part of the house and what not.

I'm about to drop algebra though because my average has to be far below failing at this point. It's cool though because now I can say after four consecutive years of taking an algebra class I've never passed one; math went over my head back at the end of elementary when division became involved.
