How Often Do You Get Told You're Good Looking

A co worker of mine today (cashier / order taker) was just commenting that no one apart from her family and close friends ever compliment her on her looks. She's usually pretty self-deprecating and it was getting her upset.

Anyway, I couldn't really comfort her as I always get told I'm handsome or whatever, whether it be my family, friends or girls in bars or other random people. I consider myself average looking but I think most people can look quite good with a bit of effort, and I compliment my friends or other people i know and honestly think their beautiful. I see nice features in most people.

Just wondering how often you get complimented? Do you think it really reflects on your attractiveness or are people just being "nice?"

I mean I think about what I buy and I buy clothes that I know will compliment my style. I never think about what I wear unless it's something specific that I'm going to, like if I'm playing a show or going to a certain kind of party.

You just gotta put the effort into being how you want to be. If you need to lose weight, then put effort into that. If your clothes make you look like a bum or a dork, then don't just buy new clothes, put effort into developing a style.

I never worry about having expensive clothes. I dye my hair, but I don't groom it in a particular way every morning or anything like that
