Well?

I've seen a few at my college wearing watches and i just wanted to find out whether you prefer wearing watches or not. I've not really worn one before but have seen some interesting ones lately on some students. So I just bought a watch and i wanted to know whether I should wear it to school. It came yesterday but idk its sort of a strange device to me. This is it:

idk if thats a cool watch or not i don't wanna look like a dork :/

It looks like a run of the mill electronic wristwatch.

I however am a cut above, so I carry a pocket watch.

I don't at the moment.
I do have one but the little strap broke and I haven't been able to replace it yet.

I have a cheap watch with a brown leather strap and a gold siding. As long as it works I'm ok with it.

Fossil watch. It's a Big tic but I let the Big Tic Battery die so it's just a place face. I also have my grandfathers pocket watch that he bought from the Soviet Union that I take out on special occasions.

I have a watch, but I never wear it. One of those fossil ones with the thick band. It's cool, just bugs me to have it around my wrist.

I have a cell phone.

If I were to get a watch, I'd get a pocket watch.

I tried to find the manufacturer of my pocket watch with Google but couldn't which makes me think it's older than I first thought it was.

Seriously though Seikos are pretty nice for the price. I don't wear watches atm but a face/strap combo with a simple aesthetic works wonders in any outfit

I got a watch in Austria when I was like 16. It keeps perfect time and only had to replace the batteries once in 7 years.

I wear it almost always. I dunno where I am without it.

It's a Kenneth Cole watch that my fiance gave me for Christmas two years ago. I only wear it when I'm out of the house. I take it off when I get home so I don't skeet on it.

I bought in the 80's when I had money a beautiful Rolex President's Oyster in gold with diamonds in it. The watch now appraises for $15,000. I bought a $225.00 copy I wear, because I am afraid if I wear the real one, it would get stolen. weird huh?

Not really. Rolex is one of the most expensive and well know time pieces in the world, and many males own them. I bought mine for around $4,000 in 1982 so it has increased in value. There are some models that go between $35-50,000 today.
I should sell mine since I really never wear it anymore.

by the way you should adjust 15 grand for inflation over the last 25 years and see how much you really made on your watch.

I have a story bout watches.

My dad went to Japan on business with some fellow coworkers. There were tons of street vendors selling everything you could imagine, and one guy was selling knock-off Rolexes for what equates to about $20

So my dad and his coworkers thought it would be funny to buy one for their boss as a joke.

Turns out, my dad's boss had it appraised and low and behold it was a genuine Rolex, worth over $20,000.

Joke was on my dad.

Pastorius
03-25-2009, 05:42 PM
how would a genuine rolex slip in amongst other fake rolexes?

Agr1m
03-25-2009, 07:01 PM
I think they were all real the vendor was just selling them hot or something.

I don't know why but it's true I pwomise

did the watch break or just the kla again, I need some new of those too

how did it break :C

semi
03-30-2009, 01:57 PM
mm its hard to explain
the strap falls off but its not the strap itself or the little pin springs that broke but one of the hole bits the pins go into on the watch itself broke.
so the strap is fine and a new one wouldnt help need a new main watch face bit

I have a fake Rolex that I bought in Chinatown NYC last summer for like $5 lol. It's pretty convincing though, I was at a local watchmen shop and asked him how real it looked and he said it def looked real. I rarely ever wear it though. But whenever I do and wear it to class people are like "Psst psst look he's got a Rolex! omg" It's pretty funny.
