So obviously everyone has seen that the most active users online was 5,757 like 4 years ago I think we should get this updated and have a simultaneous logonathon making a new 2009 record... Tis just a suggestion but if we pass it on and actually come together as the MX community we've all grown to fiercely hate and fervidly love whether it has been a month or it has been years I believe we can accomplish this with our disparate unity...

So, being graduated with a degree I didn't really want, I moved to Louisiana on a whim to work with my buddy who said he could get me into the movie biz.

Still holding onto the dream of being a commercial aviator in Alaska. I've not attained any flight certificates/licenses at all. I do, however, have the money to attain my Private Pilot's License and a great chunk out of the cost of an Instrument Rating certificate. After that...I'm thinking about getting into an armed security guard job and rack up hours/certificates with the money there, or, to look really good on the resume, get into the Air Force and commit myself to 10 years time and get flight experience there.

Yeah, I felt like I was getting nowhere because I had a job that paid little for about 4 years. Then I quit and I'm working as a janitor now. I'm seriously contemplating quitting that job, getting my private pilot's license now; I have the personal funds available now. After that, call up the phone number and ask them about that security guard internship. I found out the job pays about $52,000/year. Knowing that..

Get the security job, get pilot credentials during two weeks off.
Get the security job, save up $40,000, get into UAF, acquire Professional Piloting and Airframe/Powerplant degrees, enlist into Air Force Officer's Program, retire there after 20 years as a C-130 pilot, get a job as a pilot in Alaska.

Actually, on plan B, I might just substitute the A.A.S. degrees for a B.S. in something else. If I'm out of job as a pilot and there's no pilot careers open, a pilot's degree will mean nothing for job out of that field.

I just went to church for the first time in about 13 years...

My first time in an Episcopalian church... also my first time in church still drunk from the night before and having watched the sunrise on the very same church's steps.

There's a very particular demographic (about 13-24) which automatically thinks I rule for doing this... The rest of world, including everyone in that church, realizes that this merely makes me a loser. I suspect they thought I was homeless.

Mayhaps your subconscious is telling you to find some stability in your life. Not necessarily in religion, but the subconscious has associated a church with stability and focused motivation and planted you upon the steps thusly, so you may interpret it as such. Your prior post has told me that you have doubts on where you'll be in life, this post your subconscious is agreeing.

The concious mind has much to wonder about. It is complicated, and a tangible mess of conflictiong thoughts and emotions. I personally think that with the onset of alochol and its effects, the subconcious' simplistic motives and wants takes the reins as the conscious mind loses its train of thoughts, under the stupor of alcohol.

So don't take yourself passed out on the steps of a church as a bad thing. I'm not advocating religion, as I don't believe in theism in general.
