I figure that everybody could use a few more artists to follow so here it goes.

What are some bands that are emerging, that would be worth a look or two? How would you describe their sound. What makes them great to you?

Darkspace - Spacy, layered, suffocating black metal. Very good to get lost in. Something that takes awhile to get used to, it starts out sounding like noise but slowly it's beauty will reveal itself to you. I recommend their 3rd and latest album for its production.

Metallica.

They take the death metal sound and turn it up a notch...it's almost a "thrashing" sound...band is going to be HUUUGE!

Exmortus! they are a local band from whittier that got signed to heavy artillery records. i've seen them play 4 or 5 times and the manager and drummer recognize me at their shows. they sound like neo-classical death/thrash

Scale the Summit - www.myspace.com/scalethesummit

Great instrumental band from here in Houston. They just released their first album for prosthetic and I believe are about to go on tour.

Ringbearer - www.myspace.com/ringbearer1

Brought them up in the grind thread, just released an album on Forgotten Empire records and are currently on tour. I like this band because they don't chase trends, if you read their info they basically say we're playing music WE like, if you enjoy it great...they're are too many copycat bands nowadays, nothing is real
