Nein fraulein, they're predicting 8.1 - 8.3% growth and the IMF indicated they're roughly correct [they're prediction was high 7s].

i just hate a country that succeeds on so many of its people being abused. like saudi gets away with it but thats because oil is such an important and abundant resource.

unlike china, lots of countries embrace the western worlds standards and have unlimited human resources too. easier to do the same business with india, the phillipines, korea et al than it is with china going forward.

as the american economy changes then i can see less growth for china or much more control for america

It can be argued that the US infringes on their citizens rights in a more subtle way, but just as detrimentally. But that's for another thread so please no replies to this paragraph.

I agree with you though. I don't know whether intervention or sanctioning is required, but something should be done to get China to comply with the UN in relation to human rights.

The US is not the only large economy that accesses China for labour; remember that the Chinese do as well, and domestically they've always been strong. Especially with their emerging mining activities.

Revolution in China is a silly prospect. The CPC has too tight of a grip over its peoples' daily lives. Any hint of dissidence is rapidly quelled.

Besides they're not allowed to own guns.

Do you hate America? It seems to me that America got quite the start due to slavery...

Someone in Jilin tried to shoot his wife with a rifle in a fit of rage

He blew a hole in the wall and nobody cared

"Whoever, in violation of firearm-control regulations, secretly keeps firearms or ammunition and refuses to relinquish them shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than two years or criminal detention."

(sorry...kind of a troll-ish comment, just felt it needed to be said)Yeah but America hasn't practiced slavery for a century and a half. It doesn't excuse these regimes for being human rights abusers because Americans did so a long time ago.
