A US citizen was booted from a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to New York after he complained there were "Arab types" on board, Turkish news media reported.

Daniel Sussman Pincus, whose age and hometown were not given but who was described in one report as an American of German origin, shouted his complaints as the flight was preparing to depart Monday.

 I wonder what exactly he expected from a Turkish Airlines flight leaving from Istanbul. OMG, foreigners.

germany has a huge turkish population. maybe he didn't expect any in istanbul or on a flight to new york.

he might have worried about arabs/planes/new york. sort of makes sense for a german to think so logically

i had sex with an iranian chick who is descended from royalty. her grandpa was exiled in the late 1800's when he didn't like the way his garden looked so he gathered the gardener's sons and cut out their eyeballs and made a hill of eyeballs in the garden. her family did not think it was funny though and i did, which was weird, and i haven't talked to her since. :p

This is true, but including 'Turkic' languages along with Turkish there are over 300 million speakers. Although a lot of them are considered different languages, most Turkic languages are grammatically identical and the biggest differences lie in the vocabulary.

There are very distinct differences.

I guess I'm spoiled due to NYC. I can usually tell Middle Eastern Arabs from an Indian or a Turk. There was a lot of Turkish delis in midtown at one time. Plus one of my favorite restaurants of late happens to be a Turkish joint complete with hot belly dancers full of authentic Turkish staff. Turks remind me a lot of Serbs or Albanians with less neanderthal-isms if that makes any sense.

rasputin
01-23-2009, 09:11 AM

Not really. Only a small amount of Turks look like Arabs. Turkish peoples' ethnic backgrounds are quite diverse and some do have Arabic roots, but most do not. I, for example, look absolutely nothing like an Arab, and most people can't even pin me down as a Turk. The most popular guess for my dad is Polish.

I know what it is called. Although mine isn't made of wool and cotton. Just cotton. Plus it isn't white or black and when I bought it it said 'shemagh' so I'm gonna go with that. ;)

Kinds-

Shemagh: a piece of cloth, usually made of cotton or flax and decorated with many colors but usually by red and white.

Ghutrah: a piece of white cloth made of cotton mild, wearing in western Iraq and the gulf states.

Keffiyeh: a piece of white/black cloth made from wool and cotton worn primarily by the Iraqis in southern Iraq.

From wikipedia.

Also - Most people from Iran find the "Persian" term acceptable, as it referrs both to the ancient Empire that they are proud of and the ethnicity/culture that they are identified as. Really, you can call them anything you like as long as you don't call them Arabs, lol.

Asians are more erotic in many ways. The way they experience pleasure and their approach to it is awesome compared to typical American women who are generally hung up on superficial nonsense which causes insecurity and inevitably means no fun sex. American bitches just lay there with huge expectations and a monster ball of anxiety because their naked body alone should be enough to turn you on and if not then something is wrong with you. Hence viagra. Women in this country love viagra and all the other get hard quick pills because it makes their jobs even easier to just lay there like morons.

You guys have it better since most young women these days are a bit more feminist/curious and not so hung up on religious dogma that they think an angel is watching you chow down on some flesh flavored lollipops. Women outside our culture (Asians especially) do not suffer from these plagues.

Do you think that your lack of constant interaction with nationalities might have something to do with that bias? Sometimes it's very easy to tell the differences as long as there is no interracial fusion at some point in their lives that might throw it off.

Yeah Toronto is a very diverse place indeed. I wasn't accusing you of anything I was merely asking.

I am usually wrong 2 out of 10 times when calling out the various Asians. Koreans are easy, but the issues arise when a fusion occurs a generation or two prior. Chinese and Japanese for example almost never interbreed therefore it's pretty easy to tell them apart. Especially once they start talking. It gets a little rougher with Filipinos and farther down but the main ones are pretty simple.

The hardest are the European Caucasians.

Iskandar

Something like that seems to be more ethnicity than 'nationality'.

Right. That's what I meant. I didn't mean to mix to two up.

You do know phrenology was discredited some time ago.;)

No I didn''t know that because truly it's not something I care about. I didn't even know what phrenology was.

Though, once it stops applying I'll agree. Until then it seems to always work for me. Well, as stated not always but enough to continue using it to pick out the various "ethnicities" from each other for the sake of knowing what racial epithet to slew.

Heh, I'm for some reason considered slightly ambigious ethnically. Don't really get why, apart from that I'm slightly more brown skinned than your average Wester-European.

I've been confused for Brasilian, Panamanian, Moroccan, Venezualan and even Turkish. Every so often somebody will ask me where I originate from, always disappoints them when I turn out to be more Belgian than they are. Lulz.

My favourite side effect is getting ethnic slurs yelled at me by biggoted old men...

i've heard that referred to "he's got a bit of a tar brush in him"

in ireland, particularly the west of ireland, there are lots of people with dark and sallow skin. it is often blamed on events like the wrecks of the armada being washed up and the spanish sailors sticking around

Yeah, we've got a similar tale in the family, but replace the 'armada' with the 'Spanish occupation armies' of the Dukes of Alba* and Parma**.

Because every socially inept white male is obsessed with Japan?

It's not just the socially inept ones tho

I can't tell Korean, Japanese, Chinese apart but I can usually tell from Vietnamese, Cambodian or Thai. But then I can't always tell those three apart. I can get them all if I know their name though.

in ireland, particularly the west of ireland, there are lots of people with dark and sallow skin. it is often blamed on events like the wrecks of the armada being washed up and the spanish sailors sticking aroundI had an Irish substitute teacher at one point whose surname was Corkerry, which he elaborated supposedly resulted because one of his ancestors was a Spanish sailor washed up between Cork & Kerry.

My dad been told a couple of times to "fvck off back" to his 'own country' but still got judged 'white' under apartheid (my parents are South African emigrees). That's more to do, though, with South Africa's silly racial profiling system, under which Japs were apparently 'white' and the Chinese 'black' (evident political profiling here too).

 I wonder what exactly he expected from a Turkish Airlines flight leaving from Istanbul. OMG, foreigners.

He said "Arab types". I have no idea how ignorant he is, but it could be that he has nothing against Turks, but only hates Arabs

After all, those are two completely different ethnicities

Idk, Turks?

Side note, Turkish women are the hottest on the planet

lol, wrong line of longitude; try harder

What do you say are the hottest women, 1338?

I'm personally a fan of Brazillians, Spaniards, and Estonians.

Chinese ew.

Asians are horrible ****s and horrible people, steer clear of them at all cost. You cannot trust them. They will steal every red cent you have and leave.

Him, yes, but Asian women are evil.

Especially Japs and Filipinos.

Vietnamese are the absolute worst though.

I don't know, looks like you had a bad experience or something. Most Filipinos whom I have known were the kind of people who would never screw someone over and only cared for the company of others

With Vietnamese, there's I guess a wider variance, but most of them are ok

She told everyone I was a bad lay.

However we didn't even go that far.

Anyway, I believe they have retired that killing people business for the time being. Especially now that economic reality has set in.

You guys have it better since most young women these days are a bit more feminist/curious and not so hung up on religious dogma that they think an angel is watching you chow down on some flesh flavored lollipops. Women outside our culture (Asians especially) do not suffer from these plagues.

Amazing.
