Things are going to get interesting again. Discuss.

maybe im overly optimistic but i dont see it a major cold war-like threat. Least not yet.

According to this...
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/18/20090117/twl-kyrgyzstan-to-close-us-airbase-in-a-2802f3e.html

the base was recently setup after 9/11 to support Afghanistan. If building a base wouldnt spark anything, i dont see how closing it would.

ionno, everytime something between america and russia appears, its like "cold war?" Its possible i guess, but i doubt it. Look at the whole Georgia thing. That was pretty tense but i havent heard about anything in the news lately.

Honestly, i doubt a "Cold War" bi-polar system between America and Russia would happen today. There are too many rising nuclear equipped world powers for US/Russia to dominate again.

I agree that America and Russia has some tense relation though and this would not exactly make things any clearer. But i doubt it'll escalate to Cold War status.

edit: Yup! i know its abit tongue in cheek. Im just suggesting that we're no where near epic doom tense situation like it was during the cold war at present.

Erm, do you understand what the cold war was, and that my thread title was a bit tongue-in-cheek?
