what are your favorite comedians and why? what recent stand-up routines have you seen that you thought were really funny?
also if you have any videos of some funny stand-up routines feel free to post them.
i apologize in advance if this has been done before or if you think this thread is gay, that isn't my problem.

I started really getting into standup at around age 12 when I saw George Carlin's You're All Diseased.
Some of my favorite stand-ups are: George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Dave Chappelle, David Cross, Jerry Seinfeld, Denis Leary (he's quite funny when doing his own material and not just ripping off Bill Hicks).
Ricky Gervais' recent special was hilarious. It's been a while since I've seen a stand-up special that good.
Oh, and let's not forget Louis C.K. This guy is also a great comic. Patton Oswalt, too.

There's also this one guy I've heard a bit from lately. This fat black man named Patrice Oneal. He's very funny.

One stand-up special that I loved when I was younger (haven't seen it in years) was this one that Dana Carvey did in the mid 90's. I remember it being really funny.

Brian Posehn is another good one. You should all check out Comedians of Comedy with Posehn, Patton, Galiafanakis and some chick that I didn't find very funny. They basically do a rock tour around the nation of stand up, it's gold.
Ed Norton is also hilarious. Patrice O'Neil does Opie and Anthony sometimes but I never find him funny.
Eddie Murphy Raw was great too.

Nick Swardson is hilarious. He's really funny on Reno 911, too. His character Terry is a riot.

i've seen Bob Newhart, George Carlin, Eddie Izzard and Morgan Murphy w/ Paul F. Tompkins (Aimee Mann Xmas Show).
i must say i have a soft spot for Nina Conti. she's not as well known in the states as in the UK. she did have a spot in the movie, For Your Consideration. lady ventriloquist with the stuffed monkey on her hand. good stuff.

I hate Gervais, **** him
Nar hes pretty funny.
I saw a funny guy at Leeds fest called Sugar Sammy, mainly played on the fact that he was indian, but it was a good set.

He's not exactly a stand-up, but I have to add Henry Rollins to this thread. He does great spoken word shows with lots of hilarious material, although he can get very serious, too.

Sugar Sammy was down here( at the comedy cafe where I work) last week, He comedy wasn't so Indian based when he was here, he just went on making fun of the crowd.
