Ok, I finally got Cubase to record when I play. However, when I have the monitor active, there is a 2-3 second delay between when I play a note, and when Cubase repeats it. This makes recording kind of difficult.

And one more question. If I lay down one track, and then on a second track, play the same note at the exact same time, when I listen to the whole song, track 2 is always behind by about a second.

1) is it truly a second behind, or like, a little delayed. theres a difference.
2) check your latenency
3) you will always be a little behind. think about it. cubase plays back through your monitors which is sound. sound you hear, process, and then play over on your guitar. your guitar goes into cubase via electricity, which is light. light travels faster than sound. get it.

if its just a little off (noticeably off) zoom in, go in there and get dirty, and move the tracks over. look at the sound waves. the peaks and valleys should allign.

if it truly is a full second or two, you got a problem. your computer is processing too slow. or you have too many things affecting your signal on the way in compared ot the way out. or vice versa.

I installed the version of Cubase that came with my interface, and it's a bit easier to use than the other version I had. I have it set up now, so that Session is my main ASIO driver, and I use it as my inputs and outputs. So I connect headphones and can hear/play/record in real time with no delay. Now I'm wondering if there's a way to make it so that when recording say, a 2nd audio track, the sound from the 1st track comes from my speakers and not my headphones. I have crappy headphones so trying to record over another guitar part with all the sound blaring through my headphones is difficult.

imsurethereis a way to do that, but honestly idk how. moseph froggysor motleyguy canhelp u with that.

just to clarify, you want the 2ndtrack coming thru the can, n the 1st trackthrough the monitors? for now, u mighthave to play track1 left, and track 2right so u can hear them seperatly, then afterrecording changeit back to stereo. like i said im not an expert thats the best temp solution i can think of.

jvkeboxhero @ aim if u need more help. im at work now so im notlooking at my comp.
