Im trying to record my Yamaha Dtxplorer kit into Tracktion 2 with Linplug RMIV for samples, via midi.
When I monitor the midi input in MIDIOX, all of the drum hits register as Pitch Shifts. Shouldnt they be note on and note off messages? Im kind of new to midi recording. thanks, jake

I've read through all your (numerous) posts on this subject and I'm not finding any glaring missteps at a high level of abstraction. In other words, you may need to consult a support line.
I looked through the manual for the DXplorer module and didn't see anything that stuck out as a potentially incorrect setting for MIDI transmission (like, for instance, a control change message mode). However, one thing that might be a good starting point would be to see if there's a factory reset on the DXplorer. You may only need to take care of that.
Additionally, if you can get ahold of other MIDI input devices (like a keyboard or foot-controller), you can see what the computer is picking up for those devices and potentially find out if it's a hardware or software issue. Basically, if you can get proper response from a different device on the computer, it's probably a setting in the DTXplorer. If you can't, it's probably a weird setting in either the MIDI drivers and/or Tracktion.

alright, thanks. ill get my casio keyboard out tomorrow and try it with that. if i cant get that to work, then ill try the factory reset on the dtxplorer.
im also looking into getting an Alesis Trigger IO to use with my PC instead of the DTXplorer module, since I would be able to change the midi input notes and such with the Alesis IO.

Based on what I read in the DTXplorer manual, you should be able to do it with that module already. Something is screwy somewhere and you're going to have to do some digging to find it.
