I just purchased a lexicon alpha and it came with cubase LE 4, its cool i guess, but there is one problem. for some reason, when the headphones are plugged in, the mic input is up, and i check the microphones, i only get sound in my right headphone, and if i press in the small button in the center, i go into mono, and it plays in stereo in my headphones. doesn't make sense if you ask me. then, in stereo mode, if i pan anywhere to the left, all i get is a reduction of volume and a very minute pan to the left. nothing like i'm trying to achieve. if anyone knows how i can adjust what 'pan' means to the audio device and the program i'd be very appreciative

Is it actually in stereo, or are you just getting mono in both channels?

if u open a stereo track with only one input, youll only hear that channel.
i.e. you have a left and right input on your alpha, youplug into the right input, you record to a stereo track, you wont get sound in your left headphone. if you use two microphones, youll hear the left input in th left ear and the right input in the right ear.
if using onemic,or input, lets saythe right input, youneed to open a MONO track, and select "right input." sometimes your default might be the left input, in which case you might see your levels, but nothing will be recorded. so check your inputs and your outputs.
ALSO if that doesnt help, make sure your headphones are all the way plugged in.

It's not an input issue, it's an output/setting issue. Each track is assigned in DAWs as either Mono or Stereo, as well as Left, Right or Centred. Panning is a separate issue, what you're talking about it the output's designation. Just right click on it and assign it to what it's role'll be in the output mix.
