I dunno, I have the ability to appreciate both sexes almost equally and that's either because:

A) I have this thing where I take open-mindedness to its extreme and thus feel obligated to be attracted to both sexes

or

B) I was born bisexual but didn't know it until I was 15 or 16

I dunno which it is but I don't think it really matters. For the record, most full gays I know find women utterly repulsive (in the sexual sense) so I guess it's probably an inborn trait.

edit: However, I do sincerely believe that if a lot of "straight" guys just opened their mind and considered for a moment that being with another dude is an actual possibility that's not to be ashamed of, then they could be with another dude. But idk

Why they should never have kids or adopt, why they should be rooted out of the school district and segregated in special "gay" districts. Why? Maybe because they are people and there is this thing called life, liberty, and... mmm... pursuit of something along the lines of happiness. They have every right to try and adopt laws in their favors as you do to work against them. That's a silly way of evaluating things, to me. Things have pros and cons. If the cons outweigh to pros to the majority of society in a significant way, then it shouldn't be condoned.

If the cons outweigh to pros to the majority of society in a significant way, then it shouldn't be condoned.Normally, I agree. I am forming my opinion, however, solely on how things stand in the U.S. as is and not on sole ideology (though, what I deem essential human rights still should not be considered in a utilitarian fashion). This is not a utilitarian country, if it were we would have socialized health care because the pros would benefit the majority (let us not turn this into a pro-vs-socialized-health care discussion though), but it is rather a country based on pursuing the benefits of your respective group and capitalizing on the willingness of others to support it. If the gay population wishes to do this, they have all the right to pursue it; I would, furthermore, say that if it does no tangible (read: not-religion-related) harm, there is no reason not to enact it.
