This all suggests that SEGA must have a new console in the works. Since rumours about Dreamcast 2 started, interest has grown rapidly. SEGA clearly have the support they will need to enter into the home console market again. It is rumoured that Dreamcast 2 will be announced/revealed on 9/9/09, marking the 10th aniversary of the launch of the original Dreamcast.

It was a good console with loads of very good games. Sega really hit a home run with a lot of the software on the system which is a shame it failed.

Dreamcast had some of the best games/arcade ports ever. Hands down one of the greatest consoles ever created. If only Sega had put a dvd drive in it, then it wouldnt have been totally killed off by the ps2. Sega will never make a new console. Ever.

I still play Dead or Alive 2 and SFALPHA3 quite often on my DC, plus I'm waiting to get into Shen mue 1 and 2. It was a very consistently fun system, and had some kind of arcade appeal to it delivered with sharp colorful graphics. I think that's what separated it from the systems that were currently on the market, the arcade appeal to its games.

I like both personally. Dreamcast came out early and went out early. It just felt obsolete versus PS2 and XBOX when they pummeled it. The controllers were quite a suck too- especially since I loved Sega Genesis controllers versus anything Nintendo.

Anyway back in the day my friend fell for the trick of Dreamcast. He's one of those impulsive buyers who can't wait for things. I remember thinking about it but even the guys at EBWORLD + FUNCOLAND were like "it's not worth it just wait..." I played NBA 2k sports games and were so amazed by it and how fun it was at the time and then collecting dust within 5 months when PS2 and XBOX hit the stores. :thumb:
