Not really sure they can do much to add more to Carpenter's version of The Thing. As of right now it's just a screenplay, with no attached director/production company. But from the short snippets of an exerpt, it sounds too much like The Thing, but ends where the '82 movie starts.
Thoughts?

I don't really care about what Ben Grimm did before he became the Thing, he's much cooler now.

I actually haven't seen all of The Thing so I don't know if I can make fair judgment, but most prequels suck so I doubt this will be anything different.

I really like John Carpenter's take on "The Thing".
A prequel saddens me. The film is perfect by itself. One of my favourite horror films.

this is my favorite movie... i can't imagine this being good but honestly i'm surprised it hasn't been done yet.
