I got the leak a little while ago... I like this album, it's catchy and the lyrics are still up to the usual tongue-in-cheek standard but I just know it's going to get overplayed and killed by the man in the radio.

I used to like them, but I went off of them, I've checked out one song from the new album simply because it has Debbie Harry in it.. Not bad but I think that may be a biased opinion because of Debbie Harry.

This is true.
Their first album was alright, but everything after that is just garbage.

I still jam to FOB's first album every now and then. But everything since has just been poppy beyond reason and not very good imo.
Not say their first album wasn't poppy....being poppy isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Why is pop-punk a sub forum now?
BridgeToSolace

Because no one posts here.
You really could condense this sub forum into three threads and be set.
"New Bands"
"Community"
"Forced Listening"
And the last one is a maybe.

Hey all, yea I picked up the FOB cd the day it dropped. It was good, quite a differnt sound from previous, you can def. tell it has been "studio doctored-up" quite a bit. I liked their first few albums alot more, that harde grungier sound of Take This To Your Grave and the perfect poppiness of From Under the Cork Tree. They had a great original sound then, but I agree with some of the posts i have seen that they are a bit too poppy now, but I am still a fan of them so I'm down with what they are doing. A band that I recently heard that has that edgy feel with drama ridden lyrics and smooth vocals (almost like the beauty of Take This To Your Grave type sound) is a band out of Florida called JustListen!. They are new on the scene, but watch these kids, this is the next FOB lol, no , but seriously check them out and tell me what you guys think. www.myspace.com/justlisten2
And long live the FOB fans out there, gotta support the guys, no matter what turn they take haha.

Their single is disturbingly catchy.
But I'm getting incredibly sick of FOB's obsession with wordplay.

FOB is ok, none of their songs really stand out to me as really good or bad.

In its debut week, the album sold over 150,000 copies to place at number 8 on the Billboard 200.[22] The album went gold on January 27, 2009 for selling more than 500,000 copies in the U.S.[23]
The album, which is the follow-up to their 2007 album Infinity on High, was first released on December 13, 2008. The album is certified platinum in Australia.
I wouldn't call that a flop.
