What are the main differences between these two pedals?

One's cheaper, less durable, and not as smooth. IMO, anyway.

Both are great though. If you're on a budget, the Jr. will do the job nicely. But I'd highly recommend just waiting and getting the Cobra. I had a Jr. and it lasted about a year before I had some issues. I just needed to buy a new part and it would've been fine, but I just decided to grab the Cobra. I've had my Cobras for about 5+ years now, and I take them apart weekly, if not more, due to gigs/practices. So they've seen some abuse, and still not a single problem. My teacher has some 10-year-old cobras that work like new.

I've always been very happy with Tama's high end hardware. :)

Yeah my old music teacher has had his Iron Cobras for over 5 years now and hes never had a problem with them, so durability does not seem to be an issue with them.

Wish I could say the same for my 9000s that cost damn near twice as much :\

i've had my Jr.'s for going on 6 years now

not one breakdown or malfunction. since then i've oiled the bearings once or twice and recently switched the slave and main footboards to balance the wear and tear.

the single chain does offer some side-to-side play but nothing that has hindered the performance at all. to be honest i'm actually surprised i haven't had a problem with these pedals considering the amount of abuse i've been putting into them for like 6-7 YEARS now, and i play HARD, that includes gigging. i haven't even changed the springs once and I keep them at max tension.
