ok so a few days ago i posted a thread for a last minute fix on a bass drum head, well i went with someones idea and taped an old head over the hole and it worked just peachy. well i ordered a new head but it wont be here for about a week and i would like to still be able to practice but its super hard to double bass because where that hole was before is right were the beater hits and because i just taped a peice over it i get absolutly no rebound from it so i was wondering if there is another temporary fix i can do to the bass drum head so i can get more rebound from it, but also not loose the sound from it if at all possible.

how bad is the hole?

just duct tape it up and deal with it is all you can really do.

well i blew right through it so i took an old head and covered the hole and then taped around the end, but do you think if i put another head over that one it might stiffin it up so there's more rebound?

No, just wait for the new head, it will give your left foot a good workout :)

Yeah a patch on the head would definitely be advised for your next head.

you shouldn't need good sound to practice. Just tough it out and use a practice pad for your feet till the new head gets here.
