Suggest lists for new forum sticky

Hey guys,

I don't know where we're getting these new folk from, but instead of flaming them and killing our forum even more, I think we should all share our wealth of knowledge :)

So, one thing I was thinking we could do is sort of along the lines of Jom's sticky about essential albums, but do a sort of guide to how to get into more metal styles. Like I mean we all sort of follow the same progression right? We started with Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, moved to In Flames and CoB, Iron Maiden and Metallica are somewhere in there. I think having a sticky to sort of outline bands for people to check out would be good since we seem to be getting lots of more mainstream folks and all you guys want to do is flame them =\

Would folks participate in this ITT please and then I can make a sticky post? I'll probably point to Jom's lists too for completeness.

So basically what we are going to do is create lists by style (vocals, musically, whatevs) for a sticky that can be used as a reference for all forumers to explore new styles. Rock or metal is fine. You can theme the list however you want, and forum consensus will determine which lists lake the final sticky thread.

My examples are just quickies, try to throw together some good lists for people, I know you guys know good music, so show it please. :)

The metalcore, industrial, deathcore, hard rock, nu metal and stoner metal/rock sections should have a "Death to" in brackets at the start of their respective titles because they aren't very good. Then a the rock/metal forums should be split into two separate forums and all non-true metal and rock genres should be placed in a separate sticky in there. Would take only a few minutes for an admin to do and would also purify the forums immensely.
