I'm guessing this applies more to UKers, but WTF is with all this bingo **** they keep advertising on TV? Is it like a television equivalent of all those popup poker ads? But aimed more at women?

Is there anyone, anyone, stupid enough or losery enough to do it?

sadly LOTS of people do it

it combines gambling with a social event, plus theres a relatively high chance of winning (compared to other gambling variations) plus when someone wins they shout out loud and go apeshit and stuff, so that makes people (mebbe subconsciously) go more cause you actually see people winning in the flesh

things like the lottery dont have the social side, nor dod you really bump into anyone whos won, nevermind see them at the moment they win

Yeah, in this day and age especially it just cant compete with .. anything really. Hence they tried to shake off the old person image, trying to make it social and for 'girls nights out', then that thinned out so theyre looking to keep up with the times and expand it through the net.

But yeah, its for commoners. People that read the Daily Star and watch Ant and Decs saturday night take away or whatever the **** its called.

Whats up with those game shows that I've only seen when I go to Europe on day time tv? They usually have some hot chick telling people to text or call in for some ridiculous charge (like 4 Euro a call or something) and all they have to do is solve a relatively easy crossword puzzle or something and like one person wins every 20 minutes even though it'd seem like someone should win every 20 seconds.

Yeah those are the ones. I guess since I saw them in Poland and my grandma only had an antenna I was seeing the worst of whats on TV. One channel was in English and it was nothing but those games shows.

I used to play bingo with my grandma every week. And I went once recently with my mom. Not like a huge place, maybe 100 people. The worst thing is all the smokers. I counted one lady smoked like 12 cigarettes in the time we were there which was just over 2 hours. Then another old guy lit a cigarette and never put it to his mouth, just burned the whole thing in his hand
