Radiohead is rock wtf

Rock is an incredibly open and generic term, just because they're Alternative Rock doesn't make them not Rock, ugh you guys are idiots.

Favorite album : tie between OK Computer and AHTT

Way too many songs, but True Love Waits and There There are pretty much the main ones.

Shadius

I don't know, I <3 The Bends, OKC, Kid A and IR lots and lots. Classic albums.

HTTT and Amnesiac are both good albums, but suffer in places moreso than the others.

I know some people consider HTTT their best album, and I just find it really strange. I think it's good, don't get me wrong, but it's more disposable than their other records, like I wouldn't miss the songs off it if I went to go see them live. I mean it definately has some ace stuff on it.. I guess the general feel/mood of it dosn't sweep me away like the other records.

and pablo honey is fun i guess?

Dimmu Burger
10-22-2008, 08:32 AM
I couldn't get into Pablo Honey really.

rasputin
10-22-2008, 08:34 AM
It's a decent album, not as strong as later ones though.

Dimmu Burger
10-22-2008, 08:34 AM
True, funny though that their most popular song was on that album.

rasputin
10-22-2008, 08:35 AM
I'd say Paranoid Android was more popular than Creep, tbh.

Dimmu Burger
10-22-2008, 08:36 AM
Maybe at the time, but in the longrun Creep is still huge.

rasputin
10-22-2008, 08:41 AM
Well even now, it was the first Radiohead song I ever heard.

Shadius
10-22-2008, 08:43 AM
Hmm. I think Creep was more popular at the time, it was like a worldwide hit after it's second release. They got put in that horrible one hit wonder predicament.

Then like everything on The Bends was 10x better despite being almost a similar sound to Pablo Honey.

Paranoid Android is one of those songs that's like the "Bohemian Rhapsody of the 21st century!", and all this stuff. It's definately got more going for it longevity-wise. I think a lot of Radioheads fans are "over" Creep now tbh, most think it's a good song, but realise that they have so much better.

I think casual fans are more likely to know Creep.

McP3000
10-22-2008, 08:53 AM
Paranoid Android is so overrated. I mean its amazing, but i personally prefer 5 other songs off OK Computer over it.

So all these threads have the favourite songs lists and whatnot; how about five songs, YES FIVE, NO MORE. Five songs that you want to see live the most.

Mine are songs I didn't get to see live when I saw them in Manchester;

Exit Music (For a Film)
How to Disappear Completely
Let Down (With the falsetto vocal at the end, like on the OKC tour)
Black Star
True Love Waits

Dimmu Burger
10-22-2008, 01:29 PM
I'll be honest, I like the singles:

Optimistic
Karma Police
Paranoid Android
High And Dry
Fake Plastic Trees

I like all of their albums except Pablo Honey and listen to them all the way through, but I like these songs a lot.

they only played How to Disappear Completely on that list when i saw them in August

they no longer play let down live because apparently the arrangement is really hard to play live.

My songs would be similar though:
Airbag
Exit Music (For A Film)
Let Down
Climbing Up The Walls
Lucky

im such an ok computer fanboy

They should just play the whole of Kid A live, in order.

McP3000

Sometimes. It depends on the song. They performed really well when I saw them, though I think i'd like to see them inside next time for more noise/better sound quality. It was one of the best concerts i've ever been to though.

yeah but then they'd have to play 3 bad songs

In Limbo...? Morning bell's not amazing but I'd hardly call it bad.

I likes me some Radiohead :)

I saw them August 19th at this outdoor stadium, The Liars opened and it was fine out but it started to rain and by the time Radiohead was setting up, it was pouring rain. I was about ten-twelve feet away from Johnny Greenwood

I don't know if I could pick a favorite album by them. I own The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, Hail To The Thief, Amnesiac, and In Rainbows and my favorite is constantly changing. Right now I'm digging the Bends a lot.

I was in awe with OK Computer. Everything in that album held its own and was memorable from the get go. I love Let Down especially.

Kid A comes second, but all in all it didn't influence me as much.

Thank you kind, sir.

I don't think they're bad, I just don't like them. My brother listened to them every day for like 10 years when I lived at home, so I think it's a saturation issue. Heard them too much.
