Finally got around to uploading the shots I took from last time I was in studio. Unfortunately, because of artistic differences, I've parted ways with the group, and it looks like the CD is going to be left incomplete. All our studio time was free though, so... whatever. Anywho, here are the shots. specs on request

I know it's for recording purposes, but the blanket totally looks like a cubby house.

Ooooh, shiny china. Nice, sweet little setup you got there, and the lighting looks like great inspiration. What does the blanket do exactly?

Starclassic Performer in Indigo Blue
10x9
12x10
14x11
16x16
22x18
14x5 Ludwig Acrolite
8" Paiste Signature Splash
11" Paiste Traditional Splash
12" Wuhan China
14" Meinl Soundcaster Custom Soundwave Hi-Hat
16" Sabian Vault Crash
18" Paiste Proto Crash
18" Paiste Signature Thin China
20" Zildjian K Custom Ride
I'm sad to say that years and years of pounding away at my Sig China has begun to un-warp the edges so that it has some parts which are almost flat! It's not really suprising, the china is so thin that it's really characteristic of that cymbal to get damaged easily. I'm just waiting for it to crack until I replace it with another. Beautiful sounding cymbal, really.
I also have been checking EBay like a madman the past few months. I want to buy a 8" Performer tom, and sell my 12" so my sizes will be 8 10 14 16. In my opinion, the 12" tom is comparable in function to the 14" crash. Is it a rack tom? Is it a floor tom? Who knows? its just a bit too big to be one and too small to be the other. doesn't sound particularly great as either.
For any and all interested, pre-orders are being taken for my latest release, recorded august '07. "The Depths" can be purchased through our myspace: http://www.myspace.com/restamongruins
I'm sure i'll make another thread about that when pre-orders are over, though

I'm not exactly sure but it will isolate the kick sound for the kick mic and also dampen the kick outside of that to remove it from other mics. Correct me if i'm wrong. You can also sleep in it for those late studio sessions.

That is the only reason.

I dig your music man. Do you have two singers or double-track the vocals?

Your singer's scream sounds a bit like Randy from Lamb of God. I'm loving the set up, and the whole "K Ride for Metal" shows you're an actual musician.

thanks, vocals were double-tracked in the studio, but all harmonies are performed live as well. before we swapped out guitarists, we actually would do vocal/vocal/scream harmonies live, which sounded really, really full.

Definitely, the K Custom Ride is such a beautiful cymbal. It was one of those 'love at first ping' sort of deals. played it and immediately bought it. great colorful overtones but with a stick definition thats still gonna come through without getting too washy. bell might leave a little to be desired
