I noticed the instrument "Glockenspiel" on an Aimee Mann song the other day. I think it was the remake of "One is the Loneliest Number" on the Magnolia soundtrack.

Can someone explain what it is, or post a picture of one? It sounds kind of interesting...

"I know when I started I would have been happy to sound like the Beatles or Joe Tex or whoever. You want to sound like most bands, you want to sound like their records and that's how you learn your chops."

Yep, if you don't know by the picture, it's actually a small mallet instrument that when played gives a very bright sound. It's kind of like a small marimba but instead of being played with soft mallets on wood, it's played with hard mallets on metal. A lot of bands have actually used it recently. Thrice uses one on their Air disc from the Alchemy Index.
