Does anyone have either of these pedals? if so, what are the pros and cons of each, thinkin of buyin one but am stuck for choice. I have a sonor s class pro kit. the prices i have seen for the sonor GDPR3 was about £700 or somethin daft like that, The iron cobra u can get for about £250-£300. i believe anyway.

i have an iron cobra double pedal and i love it. it's super smooth and fast. it's very well made and has sealed bearings everywhere. i'm sure the sonor pedal is very nice too but can it be worth that much more? idk.

Sonor pedals are incredible. They far surpass anything tama has to offer IMO.
But i'd go with flying dragons because i love them too much.

I have the DW 5000 single, and I have the older DW double kicks. Love them both. Really smooth and adjustable. However I used the Iron Cobras on my teachers kit and they're totally awesome too! love them to peices. I only took the 5k to match my hat stand. Both are as good as eachother imo

Elims are great for the money and have a wide area of adjustibility
I've had my iron cobra almost 7 years now and it's been great the whole time.

well... i think the iron cobras suck astarstar.
almost every screw is stripped on mine... it was like that the day i got it... and its never happened to any other screws [tension rods, etc.] of mine, so i know it wasnt me.
i would NEVER get another tama pedal.
i like the dw5000s, but ive never played sonor pedals, but ive heard good things.

Well i have gone ahead and ordered the tama iron cobra so will let you know my opinion when i have had a play with it. Would love to have the sonor but i am just not prepared to pay £700+ for a pedal. Cheers for everyone's feedback tho.:thumb:

I own the Iron Cobra. It's not that great. I've had troubles with the screws and adjustment's.
FD's all the way.

I had my Iron Cobra pedal for twelve years without a single problem.
And if yours was stripped the day you got it, you should have taken it back. Therefore the problem WAS you - More specifically, your inability to act on what may have been a simple defect.
The Sonor and Iron Cobra pedals are both good quality but feel completely different.

Yeah i find IC's are a bit too clunky feeling for my taste. But then, i use a direct drive pedal so thats to be expected.

I have used the IC's for sometime now and they've been great. Super smooth, powerfull, and loud. Maybe the left pedal does get a little squeeky, but you can barely hear that at all even when your not playing.
Best thing to do is go to your local Guitar Center and try them both out dude.
Good luck.
