Stuck a superkick 2 on the bass drum and it absolutely bones all other bass drum heads i've tried. Defo thumbs up.

That's really cool. I'm glad you realized that the issue called for a thread.

Or a PS3.
I've got a SKII on my cheapo Sonor 503 and it's decent, but it's too much on my Tama Rockstar bass. If I went with Aquarian for a bass head again, I'd get the single ply version. But I love the PS3s too much. I'll just stick with Aquarian for my tom/snare heads. :)

I've been very impressed with Aquarian, especially with the Super Kick.

Odd. Over the years here, I've noticed the one place people regularly recommend Aquarian is for bass drums, but you seem to favour the opposite of the norm.
I really have nothing to contribute, but has anyone else noticed the same trend, or is it just me?

Cheers man, it totally did.

how does the SK compare with the EMAD?
As direct comparisons the sk2 is against the emad 2 which i found was a bit plasticy sounding and didn't let the drums warmth get through as much. Also, it's cheaper, which is a bonus.
Agreed, Superkick II makes even my Pearl Export kick sound great.

Superkick I a good choice for a Tama Rockstar?
I fail at heads.

Basically you won't know till you try. I don't see why not though.

Trying's so much effort for someone who makes... no money.
Hahahaha
Everything in Oz is butthurtingly expensive as well.

Aquarian are simply just good like that. I love them for tom, tenor and bass heads. They just do such a quality job that so many other manufacturers just can't get right.

Most of that went very over my head.

so generally, how do the SK's sound overall?
I've had heads sound like booom, phump, blap, dut, bam, and I cant remember what else, though I'm always on the lookout for a really monstrous bam.
