Dimmu Burger
09-08-2008, 07:51 PM
I don't feel like driving to VA or PA for this tour. Hopefully they'll do another tour soon and come to DC or Baltimore.

beans
09-08-2008, 07:52 PM
how long is the drive to one of those places for you?

Dimmu Burger
09-08-2008, 07:53 PM
for the VA show its a good 2 hours I think and about the same for Philly.

bringonthebreakdown
09-08-2008, 07:54 PM
the VA date is also about 2 hours from me :/

beans
09-08-2008, 07:54 PM
damn, i drive over to portland for shows that are worth it for me and its like 3 hours if you take your time about 2 1/2 if you speed lol

Dimmu Burger
09-08-2008, 07:55 PM
Yeah I'll just wait til their next tour. Even though I wanna see those other bands too.

I'm spoiled bunit. Most shows are half an hour to baltimore or dc.

beans
09-08-2008, 07:56 PM
ill be stoked for abigail williams jsut cause they skipped out on thrash and burn, dont know any of the other bands that well

and ive never been a VOM fan

Dimmu Burger
09-08-2008, 07:57 PM
The new Neuraxis album is really good, so I'd like to see them.

beans
09-08-2008, 07:58 PM
i haven't heard anything from them

Dimmu Burger
09-08-2008, 07:59 PM
Get their new album The Thin Line Between. It's really good.

adb
09-08-2008, 08:01 PM
I love all the bands on this tour, its so much better than SS and Thrash and Burn it's not even funny imo.
Finally a tour with minimal chugging, and I don't care what anyone says I can't wait to see VoM live. (and yes I see the irony in what I just posted)

beans
09-08-2008, 08:03 PM
VoM can blow me

minimal chugging, lol

im gonna tell all the bands to bring the mutha****in juns at your ****in show just to piss you off

Dimmu Burger
09-08-2008, 08:03 PM
WTF all of those bands bring the juns. Who are we kidding here?

beans
09-08-2008, 08:05 PM
(this is true but let him think im just doing it to him) lol

adb
09-08-2008, 08:06 PM
None of the bands on this tour have hardcore jun jun wees, and you said you didn't even know the bands that well bunit, lolfail

Dimmu Burger
09-08-2008, 08:07 PM
No jun jun wees no, but they have some juns in their riffs.

adb
09-08-2008, 08:08 PM
yes, but non-core breakdowns are actually fun live, juns are just boring as ****.

beans
09-08-2008, 08:25 PM
juns can be fun, went to thrash and burn and there were so many juns the roof caved in
still fun

Dimmu Burger
09-08-2008, 08:26 PM
juns can be fun, went to thrash and burn and there were so many juns the roof caved in

Yeah there had never been so many juns in Baltimore before that day.

adb
09-08-2008, 08:28 PM
lol, I'm glad I didn't go, I almost bought tix online but decided not to at the last second. Still gotta see Arsis one of these days

beans
09-08-2008, 08:30 PM
they did a really good job, and even though the crowd was primarily hardcore kids they had people movin around it was really cool.

Dimmu Burger
09-08-2008, 08:52 PM
Dude Parkway Drive is freakin huge here and I didn't even know it. It was nuts! And Winds Of Plague too! WTF?

beans
09-08-2008, 09:01 PM
idk WOP had bunch of kids goin crazy, idk about them, they just suck

but i love parkway, they have such an impressive live show

Dimmu Burger
09-08-2008, 09:08 PM
yeah I'm trying to open up to them. I'm just so suprised that all these kid pick a random band that isn't better than a million other bands per se and they all go to their shows. Like Job For A Cowboy had like hundreds of frat guys at their show.

adb
09-08-2008, 09:10 PM
I think the reason is because these bands get on major labels and get exposure through the media and advertising. I remember seeing WoP ads on lastfm

Dimmu Burger
09-08-2008, 09:12 PM
Hmmm..I didn't think PwD or WoP were on that big of a label. Ah well.

adb
09-08-2008, 09:13 PM
WoP is on Century Media, dunno about PwD

FlyingPaul_83
09-08-2008, 09:16 PM
Yay I'm excited for oct 19. good venue.

Dimmu Burger
09-08-2008, 09:17 PM
Ok PwD is on Epitaph, so I dunno about them. Century Media is effin huge though.

Pete
09-09-2008, 12:17 PM
yes, but non-core breakdowns are actually fun live, juns are just boring as ****.

so what are "core" breakdowns

and what distinguishes "non-core" breakdowns

keyboardxmosh
09-09-2008, 12:18 PM

keyboardxmosh
09-09-2008, 12:42 PM
idk, im not very much a fan of wank or out of place keyboards

Dimmu Burger
09-09-2008, 12:42 PM
I didn't think they used the keyboards all that often.

Pete
09-09-2008, 12:45 PM

Oh snap!

adb
09-09-2008, 04:54 PM
I didn't think they used the keyboards all that often.

they don't. If anything, they're just tacked on a few times and maybe once or twice do they actually add atmosphere to the music.

your calloused palms tell a differnt story

ohshi, and non-core vs. core breakdowns are pretty easy to differentiate. I'm not going to sound all sure and full of myself because I don't know the jargon, but they sound different.

Like compare the breakdown in An Autopsy to something like the Doom EP

Dimmu Burger
09-09-2008, 04:55 PM
I'm predicting an in depth discussion of breakdowns.

Ready...go!!

the keyboards in an autopsy are so laughable, are you kidding dude?

Like compare the breakdown in An Autopsy to something like the Doom EP

what are you ****ing talking about? the doom ep has NOTHING to do with hardcore whatsoever you moron

i THINK what you meant is that the faceless don't just do open chuggs for their breakdowns, YOU ****ING IGNORANT PIECE OF **** WHO NEEDS TO STOP TALKING OUT OF HIS ****ING *** ALREADY

hopefully the font size will help it sink in

HighandDriving
09-10-2008, 03:15 PM
I thought KeyboardXMosh knew his **** untill he said VoM are greater then The Faceless, epic lulz indeed.

I'm basically going just because of the Faceless, I listen to some of the other bands once and awhile but they're nothing special really.

Also I've never really been to a "metal show" before, so it should be interesting.

If anyone goes to the Toronto show, see if you can spot me, I'll be the tall guy wearing a Megadeth T-shirt who looks out of place.

And KeyboardMosh.....I'm just jking but seriously everyone knows The Faceless>VoM.

Dimmu Burger
09-10-2008, 03:24 PM
Dude metal shows are the best, you're in for a treat.

HighandDriving
09-10-2008, 03:31 PM
I don't know what to expect, I haven't moshed since Linkin Park, which was more than 4 years ago.......lol.

Oh wait I saw the Horse the band, The number 12 and Light this City show so that's kinda metalish and it had a weak pit.

Light this City was ****ing awesome, too bad they broke up.

beans

Light This City played so it was a metal show, though the other bands aren't very metal, it doesn't matter. You know what to expect.

end of story

he he veil of maya was my gamertag on x box live and everyone thought that i was either in or referring to the modern band. i always had to explain that my name was taken from the cynic song veil of maya and then they would always ask who cynic was and i would always have a major face palm moment.

short, pointless story :))

but yea the faceless would be sick to see live even though i only like 3 tracks off of akeldama they still rip.

Dimmu Burger
09-11-2008, 01:34 PM
Yeah explaining stuff to music retards is annoying. I do try to be patient and convert them to liking good music, but its tough.

adb

So it was probably the best show I've been to

Erathma - plagued by breakdowns, but some flashes of greatness
Neuraxis - nothing great, but not bad
Veil of Maya - could barely hear the vocalist, but everything else was immense. Loved it.
Decrepit Birth - Best band of the night, played flawlessly.
Abigail Williams - Samus can ****ing drum, the hot keyboardist wasn't there and it bogged down their performance, still really good
The Faceless - played tight as hell, their set was cut in half by time issues. They were playing An Autopsy and the sound just cut out they stopped playing. Oh well, it was pretty awesome while it lasted. Leche from old ABRB was there for their set checking them out. I yelled out "Leche" and he grinned at me

got a faceless album cover hoodie, shirt and poster for $50

took a bunch of pics:

dude, sucks you couldnt hear brendon (veil of maya), hes within the top 5 live vocalists ive ever seen

adb
10-18-2008, 05:19 AM
actually I could hear him fine sometimes, he didn't strike me as anything amazing, just a standard deathcore vocalist, but they really fit the band. Their guitarist was better than I expected, and the tone was great. I had the most fun during their set, they played 5 songs plus the instrumental. I believe they were Crawl Back, Its not safe to swim, All things set aside, Mark the Lines, and Sever the Voices. ****ing awesome. I wanna see how stupid I look on the vid.

hismajestythepope
10-18-2008, 05:21 AM
marc is beyond any guitarist in the deathcore scene, and in hand their drummer and bassist and vocalist are above and beyond, you need to pay more attention, ive been going to these bands' shows for years, and vom stands well above the rest

adb
10-18-2008, 05:24 AM
nah the guitarists from Burning the Masses are the best in deathcore, marc is vv good though
They had a new bassist who played their first show tonight

hismajestythepope
10-18-2008, 05:26 AM
marc's a lot less sloppy than the btm guitarists lol.

also, mad more creative. even if he rips off meshuggah for breakdowns, at least he doesnt ****ing rip off tteotd for riffs.

just compare the veil of maya demos to the burning the masses demos for instance.

also, marc, higler, and brendan are sooo ****ing cool to smoke bud with lol
