View Full Version : Ghostbusters 3?

Now I don't know if this will appeal to everyone, but Ghostbusters was all the rage when I was a kid and so I'm really happy to hear that part 3 could soon be in production. From what I've gathered, Dan Aykroyd has written #3 and will be a CGI animated movie. This also bodes well with Bill Murray who did not wanna appear in the movie but is happy to lend his voice. Opinions on this anyone?
However, there is an interesting twist, according to MSN, Judd Apatow (Anchorman, Talladega Nights, etc) is considering a venture into Ghostbusters 3 with the Frat Pack. So I was wondering what Frat Pack members could play who? Again, open to discussion.
Any fans out there looking forward to this (or both)? Or anybody think this will all suck?

From what I heard, Apatow being associated with it is just a rumor right now. I'll check it out though because I could be mistaken.
Either way it will be interesting to see how this turns out.

I think Vince Vaughn would make a great Ghostbuster, I think the rest of the Frat Pack would be terrible.

I've heard several different things about a Ghostbusters 3 film, so I really don't want to speculate until some concrete details become available.

I have heard:
1. Animated CGI with original characters voices
2. Judd Apatow & crew doing it
3. Original cast having cameos in it
4. All original cast returning
5. Written by some of the writers of the Office (the American one)
Most of those would be terrible imo. Apatow humour is very far from ghostbusters humour.

I've only heard the Office writers rumors, did not even know about the other stuff

Ghostbusters game soon, too. (Although I read in Game Informer that it didn't show at E3.) There is a possibility that they could be linked somehow.

That game looks awesome. A definite purchase.
The only think better than that is the ghostbusters proton pack and trap (with ghost) that I had when I was 6/7. Wish I still had it... :(

Yeah, I heard that today funnily enough, The Office U.S. writers with original cast. Though I thought Bill Murray was dead against making an appearance?
In reference to Apatow, it could work but it would be very different from the previous Ghostbusters movies, having said that, if they let Aykroyd and Ramis write it, it could be pretty good?
- Vince Vaughn would make a good Peter Venkman
- Steve Carrell could do Egon Spengler, possibly....hmm, maybe not.
- Seth Rogen as Ray Stanz? Just cos he is kinda portly and has gingery-brown hair (thinking of the cartoon Ray Stanz here...even that is a push).
- Can't think who could be Winston Zeddemore.

No Will Farrel or Steve Carrell
that's all I'm asking.

Vince Vaughn would definitely fit

The Frat Pack would all make lame Ghostbusters. Don't turn it into Old School. It's not that kind of a film, and wouldn't work as such.

The originals are the only way to go.

Vince Vaughn would fit in well, but I can see this being terrible.

There's a big list of "friends of the Frat Pack." I'm sure they're in there somewhere.

Probably one of the few.

Theres a few late newcomers into the Frat Pack too, although not on the same level as the main guys (as mentioned above). I think John C. Reilly (Dewey Cox, Talladega Nights) and David Koechner (Champ Kind in Anchorman; Talladega Nights) have joined them too.

a bit of controversy surrounding the game,
activision just bought out sierra games (a game publisher) and and vivendi and they canceled several games (i heard the new 50 cent was one of them) but it seems it is still going to be released
oh and i was never a fan of ghostbusters, the movies are extremely corny
The_Mop

tbh, they wern't just corny, IMO they were outright unfunny. Pretty much anything I've heard from Bill Murray has been an incredibly lame attempt at being funny.

animated? i'll pass
you can't follow up two classic comedies like the ghostbusters with an animated film it robs it of all it's novelty and just turns it into a crapfest

well knowing that the movie is possibly going to be cgi.....its gonna be released in like 4 or 5 years, so yall might as well pop your feet on that table and wait

Wow! How long ago did the 1st one come out? But I really liked the first and second on, so if they are coming out with a 3rd one, then I hope it will be a success.
