i heard the multiplayer demo is going to be available soon (in a month or so)...i also heard it might not go to pc and it will exclusively be sold on console...but i have nothing to back this up with really.

cod series is nothing but a very well polished fps, they recycle the same engine most of the time, not like halo where they have constantly build up a new engine

idk it was fun the first time but then battlefield came out, and 15 medal of honor games, and a now increasing string of call of duty games, and somehow i get the feeling that killing nazis lost its appeal about 10 titles ago

The reason why it's only taking a year for them to come out is because one developer is making CoD 5, and a different one is making 6. A game usually takes about 2 years to make.

Yep, agreed. There's a nice novelty factor, and the game looks and sounds amazing, but after awhile it's just a fps. Not much new there.

If you're talking about Big Red One, that was made by the same people who made 3, so no he isn't wrong about all the ones being developed by Infinity Ward.

iirc the ones made by Treyarch get pushed out really quickly but the ones by Infinity Ward get like twice as long for development.

Granted, I don't play many FPS' (and COD4 is the only COD I've played), but COD4 had some stand-out missions. The one mission where you're in the plane with the night-visison is super cool and fun, the Chernobyl sniping mission is great and the mission where all you do is play a dying soldier witnessing the destruction of a nuke was spot on.

Most other FPS' I've played (HL2, halo series) are far more generic FPS' IMO.


Anyway, to get back on topic, I'm big on original developers (i.e Neversoft screwed up GH IMO) so I'm really not interested in another COD unless IW does it.

yeah the sniper mission is probably my favorite mission on cod4 but after beating the game like three times even that got old

essentially yes

you reach a point towards the end of the game where you have the option of taking revenge on your rival or doing a deal with him

either way he screws you over but your choice affects the last few sequences of the game and who you kill at the end

Ya after beating GTA it's mainly just kill people and run from the cops, which is fun when you're just screwing around with some friends over, but really really boring when you're by yourself.
