View Full Version : What song gives you goosebumps? You know what I'm talking about..

I always get goosebumps to "Spirit of the Radio" by Rush , "Heart of Rock'n'Roll" by Huey Lewis, "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song) by Billy Joel, and "Heart of the Sunrise" by Yes.

I love that feeling, when you look down and your arms are all bumpy and the hair is sticking straight up. There's really no feeling like it and it's the reason Musicians always get the girl..

Thoughts? Songs that do this to you?

"I know when I started I would have been happy to sound like the Beatles or Joe Tex or whoever. You want to sound like most bands, you want to sound like their records and that's how you learn your chops."

Me and a Gun by Tori Amos. It makes me almost uncomfortable to listen to that song. Same with You Fail Me by Converge.

Also Sunshine The Werewolf by Dillinger Escape Plan. The "destroyer" part is unbelievable. One last one...the entire song Pluvis Aestivus by Pain of Salvation gives me chills.

Kayo Dot - The Antique
The part at like 9:50 when the piano and drums (with brushes) come in gets me. Only if I listen to the whole song though, if I just skip to it it doesn't have the same effect.

Rosetta - Au Pays Natal
The ending of this song "(THE SHELL OF A MAN FORGOTTEN..." etc etc etc) will give me some "goosebumps" sometimes, but usually only if I'm playing the two discs together.

Pelican - Drought
Well, I don't really get "goosebumps" from this song anymore, but the first I heard it I did. The opening riff is just huge.

One Battle Of Mice song still gives me chills sometimes, if that counts, but I don't remember which song now.
And there's a bunch others too, but this is just what I can think of off the top of my head.

John Williams - Hymn To The Fallen

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAFflPB29MU

composed by John Williams for the score to Saving Private Ryan. It plays in the theatrical re-release trailer and over the ending credits.

and a lot of songs by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds :)
