A tribute to a lovely game.

Just beat mgs4 yesterday and i damn near cried at the end, the last boss battle was just so well thought out and composed...a great tribute to the past games, one of my best experiences in games thus far.. A story that will make tom clancy cry in shame.

and last but not least, a toast to my favorite game character of all time, revolver ocelot, you will not be missed budy.

edit: i am also surprised that this game franchise been around for like 20 years and it ended and no1 made a thread about it yet

Oh well though. Yes, MGS is a brilliant series, probably the best game series there is. Haven't played MGS 4 yet though, which is driving me insane.

Haven't played MGS 4 yet though, which is driving me insane.Me neither, and the amount of time I'd need to devote is too much for my days off. I hear the cut scenes are long. I'd rather not play after I get off work, because I'm just in a mood to relax.

i just beat the Crying Wolf in MGS4, but ive been too lazy to continue playing the last week or so. maybe ill play it next week. the cutscenes are excellent, but i jsut havent been in the mood to watch and sit for 30 minutes

MGS4 is awesome. I started the series kind of clunky though, I knew some background info (very minor details) about the series, got MGS3 Subsistence (the 3 disk one) late 2006, then on the day of MGS4's release I got that and MGS2. I went through MGS2 in 2 days and then played MGS4 where I played 1 Act a day until I finished it. Really loved it. But I don't have the first MGS yet, which I should get. Might dload or something, but I think you must have played all the games to fully appreciate MGS4, I bet if I had played MGS1 before MGS4 I would've found Act 4 much more better.

MGS4 is awesome. well, all u need to know is that big boss was the captain of foxhound in the first game and he sent snake in without knowing snake was going to actually fulfill the mission (because big boss was basically the head of the bad guys in the mission) so he revealed himself to snake that he was the one in charge of the compound then he fought snake and lost and was supposedly dead

then in the second one, he was sent to do something (not really important to the overall mgs series) then fought frank yang(gray fox) and supposedly killed him but he was basically captured and forced to train to be that samurai guy (and gray fox killed naomi's parents but he raised her as a kid etc. you will get that is metal solid 1) and snake fought big boss again and this time big boss's body was incinerated


dam big boss really sucks



i also fill they can make more metal gear games, like from another character's point of view

wouldnt be that bad to play as the boss and linking clues to who the philosophers were or plays as raiden/gray fox (to fill in the story holes) in a semi-stealth/hack n slash game ya know

**** i wouldnt mind playing as revolver ocelot either

I'm pretty sure the Metal Gear 1 and 2 came with MGS3 Subsistence, didn't get around to playing it, I'm very lazy. And Raiden was quite badass in 4, but yea I don't want a game just based on Raiden.

I bought the MGS essential collection to see what all the hype is about since I've already played the Splinter Cell series and I wanted to try out MGS. I've played the first 2 and I still think Splinter Cell is better, MGS has a decent story but Splinter Cell's gameplay is much better imo. I'll have to try out 3 soon.

No, see, Snake is American, so naturally brits can't relate to his struggles of being old so soon.

Game is too short and the cut-scenes are way way way way too long. The gameplay is really good though, much better than the previous games. I didn't care too much for the story so I gave up and just played the game.

and Britain is worthless.

The microwave hallway was freaking tough to just get through.
