Help me find bands that sound like Dredg

I totally get into Dredg a lot, but in fear that I might someday get sick of them, I'd like to find bands of similar style/sound.

Haven't heard them in years, are they still seen as a Christian band? I will give them a listen later, but sometimes I just can't stand listening to Christian music because I feel like I am being preached to.

Oceansize come to mind straight away.

sounds "like" dredg, well that's hard as no band is as good. Mars Volta and Radiohead r the only bands I can think of that sound somewat alike and have the same talents (almost). but, and no joke here, I was sitting listening to by dad's old records a couple weeks back, and the rolling stones, while the sounds has a +40 gap in it, the stones have the same feel as dredg especially on the "exile on mainstreet" album. my guess is that it's the heroine.

I always though of Dredg as a post-rock band with a good vocalist. They have the big soundscapes, complicated arrangements & time signatures that you would expect from post-rock but often trimmed down to 4-5 minutes. Stick on a singer and you have Dredg.

Lietmotif & El Cielo are f*ck'n masterpieces and sound nothing like the Stones IMO

The great thing with dredg though is that they totally have their own sound. Well, in El Cielo more than Leitmotif.

So, I was finally done with Dredg for the time being, but really really love prog rock. So I searched and came to you, Zmev. I am downloading all of the bands that you have listed there that I could find. I will listen to them, then come back and let you know what I think. I sure hope I've hit gold here, it's nice to find music like Dredg
