So yeah, My 4th Electric to my insane Bass collection. Its a frankenstein between a fender Aerodyne and a Geddy Lee. Probably the sweetest combination known to mankind. Added some vinyls to pimp it to the extreme.

Probably the sweetest combination known to mankind.

It looks great, but the Aerodyne body is still made of basswood which immediately throws it out of the running for "sweetest combination known to manking" ...Nice try though :thumb:

She's beautiful. im not usually a fan of the PJ combo on a J body, but this is an exception.

And?

It's a truly horrible choice for the body wood of a bass. It will dent if you look at it too aggressively.

The only benefit I can see to making a body out of basswood is that it's incredibly cheap to buy.

Yeah, but Edge, wtf do you know? It has "bass" in the name. It's obviously the best wood for a "bass" guitar. ****in' dummy.

Truly foolish indeed.... I think I'll go hit myself in the head with a framing hammer as retribution for such a ridiculous statement :smash:

For reference the pronunciation of the word is like the fish, not the gutiar.

If you think a really weak body wood is a feature and not a negative aspect... Well... People still watch soap operas, so there's no accounting for taste

It's not like the wood is going to shatter or melt on you or anything.

I once went to this show and after this one band played their set the bassist threw his bass into the back of a pickup with no case

I don't know what that had to do with anything but anyways end of reply

Probably had something to do with people caring for/not taking care of their stuff.
