a series with a better story than pokemon but it lacks the depth of pokemon....get it?

anyways there was one series that was fly as **** lemme find it...oh yea digimon tamers, great story great animation....anyways..

digimon actually did have some cool aspects to it though that would have made pokemon better tbh

It would've been a cool story arc to pokemon, but on it's own its too weak and copycat-like.

na digimon was more focused on a pretty good story that actually had a meaning and character development vs where pokemon just had a "OMG what pokemon is going to appear on the next episode!" thing...

i remember back in grade school people had the toy that you had to shake, so the monster gets experience points.

it's basically like a tamagotchi that you can put in fights:
