I dig their debut but they're nothing to write home about

I suppose, but they have some really really good songs like Ornament and Women Who Love Men Who Love Drugs and Music For A Nurse

I enjoy their new album once in awhile.

I'd like them better if they had no vocals. Not that it's bad, I just don't think it's needed.

I would like them better if they knew how to write songs. No seriously, they sound good, but they have no idea how to use their sound to actually write some good songs.

you're crazy; effloresce is full of them

It's the closest they came to being awesome, but its all drowned out by a whole lot of aimless wandering.

I think I'm more with you on this one. Maybe they're too democratic and noone takes the lead, but to me, yeah, they're hit-and-miss.

One of my fave bands, if you haven't seen them live then it's hard to understand the whole thing, I liked them before I went to see them but I like them five times as much now

Yeah they're immense live.

Effloresce and Frames are good albums I'd say, and Ornament is an incredible song... like, stupidly good. Perfect closer when live too.

Brilliant band, really really need to see them live sometime.

Anyone who like Oceansize should check-out Amplifier, they're similar'ish but with a slightly more chilled, psychedelic feel (and much bigger, heavier riffs). Oceansize do tend to lean slightly towards screamier/hardcore (whatever that genre may be, don't shoot me) stuff which I don't dig quite as much.

Frames is probably my favorite record from 2007, next to Primordial's To The Nameless Dead.

They're excellent live; massive 3-guitars-wall-of-sound.

And I dont really relate to that last one, On Frames there is hardly any screaming.

Fightstar is better, though completely unrelated.

And sometimes you have to roll the hard six.

Why would you compare 2 bands in completely different genres?

Both Fightstar and Oceansize are awesome, and sound nothing like each other ;)

I dunno. I think I got into both of them at the same time so for some reason I lump them together. My bad.

Oceansize is such a worthless band.
