Been tossing this one around for a couple of months. Took a beat from another bit I worked and meshed it with this. Interesting feel, I'm kind of partial to it myself (but then again, why would I write it if I didn't like it, lawl).

first half i was not digging very much at all. it felt very plastic and uninspired sounding. the second half however was the exact opposite. rich, full, warm and with a vintage/lounge feel that was pretty tangible.
also you need to mix your instruments lower and your beats higher. you just have to.

Anyone else?
I'll take anything--I like it; I don't like it; go die in a fire.
Your choice. :)

Jamey's write, better than the dolphin music.
I actually really like this. Way better than anything you've ever made with your looper. :p I don't know exactly how to describe what I like, it's just a great texture. And Sade's wrong, keep the beat where it is. Plus, I think we may have different definitions of "vintage/lounge."

cool stuff, it would sound better the the beats brought up
this needs like a fat Shadow beat behind it to give it some balls. nice melodies but those modules kind of ruin it. i'd like to hear something a little more natural. AND FADE OUT THE END YOU SON OF A BITCH.

I really enjoyed that.
Really great stuff.
I liked all of it but really hated it when those strings played the highger pitches. I don't think that MIDI sound treats it well at all.
I agree with the beats being higher also.
Compositionally, melodically and harmonically I enjoyed all of it. I jsut didn't like the "sounds" so much. Minus the piano at the end. Unfortunatley, I lack the knowledge to point you in the direction I am thinking of when it comes to sound recording etc.
But yeah, wicked stuff.

Automation.
Beg your pardon?
fade the song out with the automation feature in Reason. you know, the little line representing volume and the markers you can add etc. same as in GarageBand.

Oh. Nice. I didn't know about that. Okay, that should be easy to figure out then.

You could also export it and fade it out with whatever software you want, which is what I do.
or he could do it the easy way.

I've listened to this song once or twice every time I've read the forum since you posted it....I think you did a pretty bang up job on it.

or he could do it the easy way.
Because my way is so difficult. It takes about 10 seconds.
dude...come on now, don't be ridiculous. i don't care how long it takes. whether it's ten seconds to do it your way, or one second to do it within Reason - not really the point. it's just absurdly unnecessary to take a song out of one program and put it in another just to accomplish the trivial task of fading it out. that's a serious wtf.

This is nice Ben, it kinda makes me think it should be the intro to a tv show or game music or something.
Your melodies have certainly been improving since I last heard you. :)
