Well yeah, this was bound to happen. It's similar to Dual- and Quad-core processors. It's just a little different on GPUs.

Maybe I read this wrong, but it sounds like its meant to make having multiple GPUs compatible (like having both Nvidia and an ATI). If the Nvidia is better at shader processes send those to that while the ATI can handle polygon rendering. Sounds promising, but it could very well just turn out to be the next SLI/Crossfire.

it's better in the sense that you won't be an utter dong mongler for actually using a multiple GPU system
