it could be interesting. i think its a little early for this type of thing. more interest might have been gotten after the election

some of the characters / actors looked as if they could border on parody or satire judging from the clips. i think thats a danger and i doubt it was intentional. not because its poorly made or forced, just because these people are still prominent in public life. i mean he has Josh Brolin playing the President. while he is still President!

i'm not crazy about Josh, either. liked him in No Country For Old Men. but thats about all i can remember. i'm sure he's done other good stuff, just nothing too notable. at least that i've seen

i'll give this a shot if word is good and it isn't too heavy handed. i don't care for Bush too much, and Oliver Stone is a great filmmaker imo. he's had some real duds, but overall he is one of my favorite directors. i don't want a film that trashes the Bush's, though. i know some will say the film depicts W. in and unfavorable light. others will say its truthful and use it against Bush (which is dumb its a movie) but i'm hoping its just a plainly told story. quite frankly the things depicted in the trailer (drinking, womanizing, drugs, jail, family disputes, ambition) just make W. seem all the more human to me. fallible and imperfect. and we already know he is that, and more. and i don't think he has made any big secret of his past, privileged upbringing. i almost feel sympathetic toward him watching the trailer.

i know Stone got some zingers in. and yeah W. and the repubs will be portrayed as politically dirty and corrupt. but again, we know what they are and what many politicians are and its not new to us. so hopefully its mostly a straight story told in a sober way and we'll leave the theater with a better understanding of Bush and his family. otherwise, what else is there to know we already don't?

banks is way too young and hot to be Laura Bush. maybe she could play one of the daughters, but this won't work out

I can never trust an Oliver Stone film. Always somewhat questionable.

Well ****, at least make them look like the real people.

You have to be careful with that though. It's better to be the character than be a caricature of the character. Trying to look and sound like the person could easily leave you in a rut of merely trying to act like them and not BEING them.
