Hardly.
He's technically proficient, but I would hardly call him a virtuoso.

Well, we dunno what else the guy does. Virtuoso seems to be such a relative term these days. Some people actually considered Cliff Burton a virtuoso...

Not everyone that browses bass forums is a bassnerd. I hate 99% of it. Virtuoso anything is pretty much a party trick to me - it's good for a laugh or some brief entertainment, but it doesn't mean much more to me than that.
That said I love bass when it's applied the right way, but there are too too many ways to apply it that, to be quite honest, make my ears bleed.

I didn't know that we hated Nathan Hughes? Aside from his awkward vocal melodies and lyrics that could use a bit of work, I think his voice compliments his unique approach to rhythmic solo bass.

Not really. Take away the novelty of a bassist singing, and Nathan Hughes doesn't have all that much appeal.
And Seth writes much more creative bass lines.

I find Nathan does a better job of filling out the sound by himself.
Listening to Nathan: "That's cool that he's doing something new with that style of bass."
Listening to Seth: "That sounds disgusting. Buy a guitar."
